Suicide Prevention

•April 13, 2009 • 1 Comment

One of the areas covered by NIMH is suicide prevention. A news item has just been released reporting that black teenagers, especially young women, are at particularly high risk for suicide.

A new study will be examining suicidal behavior in U.S. Army soldiers, with the goal of being able to prevent suicide by better understanding it.

NIMH also has a page dedicated to information and studies on suicide prevention.

Also posted are instructions for anyone considering suicide or who knows some who is suicidal. These directions are available in both English and Spanish.
